Manchester United scout David Friio has dubbed Antoine Griezmann "special" and expects the Real Sociedad winger to shine at the forthcoming World Cup in Brazil.

Griezmann has been pulling up trees in La Liga with the Basque side and was the subject of interest from Arsenal during the January transfer window. It seems too the 22-year-old is well known to Manchester United talent spotter Friio.

Friio explained to French sports daily L'Equipe: "Griezmann can definitely bring something special [to the World Cup].

"His versatility and technique, in a tournament where the spaces are reduced, are real assets.

"You don't score 15 goals in a big championship [like La Liga] without having real qualities."

Griezmann, who turned out for France in this evening's friendly against Holland, making his senior debut in the process, has clocked up 24 games and 15 goals in La Liga for Real Sociedad so far this season.

The 22-year-old is under contract with Real Sociedad until the summer of 2016.
