Lierse coach Stanley Menzo has come under fire from Celtic striker Tony Watt, who is on loan at the Belgian club.

Menzo's side currently sit just eleventh in the 16-team Belgian top flight, having conceded 51 goals in 29 games, an alarming total.

Watt feels that the Dutch coach is looking for a scapegoat and all too often turns the fire on him.

The Celtic-contracted striker told P-magazine: "Whenever we lose, Menzo blames me.

"Actually, it's his fault", Watt blasted.

"At this club they do not know how to deal with me. Whenever we lose, they blame me. I always do something wrong."

And Watt, who found fame when scoring for Celtic against Barcelona in the Champions League, pointed to a recent clash against Ostend, a game Lierse lost 3-2, as an evidence to back up his claim.

"I played against Ostend for only 20 minutes, yet Menzo blamed me, when it really was his fault.

"I can't score goals from the bench", bemoaned the Scot.

Watt, who has lost his regular spot in the Lierse team in recent weeks, has clocked up 17 appearances with eight goals for the Belgian club so far.
