Wolfsburg are prepared to rival Liverpool for the signature of Hoffenheim attacking midfielder Roberto Firmino.
The Brazilian talent has impressed Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs, who is now eyeing tempting him to the Volkswagen Arena this summer, according to German daily Bild.
Firmino has fallen onto the radar of a number of clubs, with Liverpool one of the 22-year-old's suitors, while Schalke sporting director Horst Heldt has admitted rating him highly.
"I have nothing to say except that Roberto Firmino is a great player", he said earlier this month.
"I imagine there are many clubs that are after him."
Despite looking set to field offers for the Brazilian, Hoffenheim boss Markus Gisdol insists it is not a done deal that the midfielder will be leaving in the summer.
"Of course we know the mechanics of the market, but players who have proven themselves and fit into our system well we want to keep here."
