Xherdan Shaqiri has played down speculation that he is looking to leave Bayern Munich after his brother, who also acts as his agent, explained that if a summer offer from Liverpool, Manchester United or Inter arrived, it would be closely studied.

The Swiss winger's brother also stressed that a lack of regular playing time could force Shaqiri from Bayern Munich, claiming he needs to play on a more regular basis.

However, Shaqiri has done his best to backtrack on his brother's comments, claiming he may have been misquoted, although also noticeably leaving the door slightly ajar.

"I never said that I want to go away from Bayern Munich", he told Sport 1.

"I am very happy to be here and I have no plans to leave", the former Basel man continued.

"My brother came out with his assessment and was probably misquoted a bit.

"If a big club come with an offer, you look at it of course. All players do."

Shaqiri's brother had said that the winger is waiting until the summer before assessing his options, commenting: "Xherdan is 22. At this agent he needs to play regularly, which is currently not the case.

"We are waiting now until the summer."
