Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger admits he is taking inspiration from Manchester United's Ryan Giggs and Roma's Francesco Totti when it comes to being a one-club man.

Schweinsteiger made his Bayern Munich debut in 2002 and has never turned out for another club. The 29-year-old sees his future remaining at the Allianz Arena and following in the footsteps of 40-year-old Giggs and 37-year-old Totti, notable one-club men, is the aim.

"At the age of 40 Giggs is still playing at the highest level, he is remarkable.

"I'm proud that I've played at one club. Were there times when I was close to a transfer? Yes, several times, but ultimately it was my heart that took the decision."

However, Schweinsteiger cannot yet give a cast-iron guarantee that he will be at Bayern Munich until the end of his career.

"Could I finish my career at Bayern? I can't possibly answer that. I am more than happy here, but surprises can always happen in the future.

"I have a few years left", he added.
