Monaco coach Claudio Ranieri is open to Dimitar Berbatov extending his stay at the Stade Louis II.

Berbatov joined Monaco on loan until the end of the season from English Premier League side Fulham in January and has quickly been amongst the goals at his new club.

Indeed, Berbatov has scored twice in six Ligue 1 games so far and Ranieri is open to the Bulgarian staying at the club; his contract at Fulham expires in the summer.

"Slowly, he's getting better. He is a good player", Ranieri told reporters.

"He is very important to us.

"I think he wants to stay.

"We will talk together later", the Italian tactician concluded.

In addition to his two Ligue 1 goals, Berbatov has also bagged another two in the French Cup.
