Arsene Wenger has revealed he is confident that Bacary Sagna will remain at the club beyond this summer.

Sagna's current contract with Arsenal expires this coming summer and he has yet to put pen to paper on an extension, something which has alerted a number of clubs to his availability on a free transfer.

Italian giants Inter have made clear their admiration for Sagna, while Manchester City have also been linked. Liverpool meanwhile are credited with offering the Frenchman a contract, although returning home is a potential option too with Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain keen.

But Wenger feels the former Auxerre man will stay put.

Asked about Sagna at a press conference, Wenger said: "I'm confident that Bacary Sagna will stay.

"But we will accept his decision and go with it."

Sagna joined Arsenal in 2007 from Auxerre and wasted little time establishing himself as one of the best right-backs in the Premier League.
