Roma have announced that they will retire the club's number 10 shirt when Francesco Totti hangs up his boots.

Totti is an icon at Roma, having never played for any other club since making his senior professional debut in 1993 under coach Vujadin Boskov. The Italian recently made his 700th appearance in all competitions for the Giallorossi.

And the 37-year-old, who has also scored 233 goals in Serie A and won the World Cup with Italy in 2006, is set to be honoured when he decides to call time on his illustrious career.

"We will retire the number 10, there is no doubt", president James Pallotta told Sky Italia when asked about what will happen when Totti eventually hangs up his boots.
