Liverpool have given Dutch Eredivisie side FC Groningen a deadline over signing Krisztian Adorjan.

The 21-year-old Hungarian is on loan at Groningen from Liverpool and has featured for the Dutch side on a regular basis this season.

Groningen have made noises over keeping Adorjan on a permanent basis, but so far no deal has been done with Liverpool.

Now, according to local daily the Dagblad van het Noorden, Liverpool have told Groningen they must activate their purchase option to buy the attacking midfielder by 15th May.

If no deal is done by that date Liverpool will consider Adorjan to be remaining at Anfield.

The 21-year-old has made 16 appearances for Groningen in the Eredivisie so far this season, scoring three goals and providing one assist.

His deal with Liverpool runs until the summer of 2015.
