QPR manager has said that he doesn’t have a problem with Joey Barton and believes that the former Manchester City player has a future in coaching.

Barton joined QPR from Newcastle United in 2011 on a free transfer; he spent last season on loan at French giants Marseille.

Redknapp has stated that he knew about Barton’s reputation as a troublemaker but has never had a problem with the Englishman at QPR, and his absence due to an injury is a big miss for the squad.

"I've never worked with Joey before – but he's been excellent, not a minute’s problem. He's been a big plus for us this season”, the former Portsmouth manager said in a press conference this morning.

"We miss Joey when he's out and he's struggling with a small thigh strain at the moment."

The QPR manager also believes that the 31-year-old can become a good coach once he retires from the game.

"I'm sure he has a future in coaching – he knows the game, loves the game and is on the way by doing his badges"

Barton has made 34 appearances for the London side this season, scoring two goals and providing three assists.
