Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has heaped praise on his attacking partners Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo after they both starred in the Whites 3-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of their quarter-finals game in the Champions League at Santiago Bernabeu last week.

Early goals from Bale and Isco, and a second-half strike from Ronaldo, ensured that the German giants will head into the return leg on Tuesday with a 3-0 deficit, and Benzema, who has scored a total of 85 goals together with the duo, is delighted with Ronaldo and Bale.

"They are great players", the French international told UEFA’s official site.

"I get on really well with them, whether it's on or off the pitch. It's easy to play alongside players like that, they are strong, quick and very technical.

"But we are a team, it's not only about us, the three forwards, we have got the help of the whole team.

"Our team plays attacking football, and as I have said, there are some great players up front, and it's great for us to score a lot of goals, and great that we help the team to win games", the 26-year-old added.

Having scored 135 goals this season, Carlo Ancelotti’s men are looking for a treble win this year. Third in La Liga’s table, Real Madrid are three points behind Atletico Madrid and just two points behind second-placed Barcelona.

They will also play the final of the Spanish Cup against Tata Martino’s side on 16th April.
