Celtic boss Neil Lennon has tipped a South American team to win this year's World Cup in Brazil, even though he cannot write off defending champions Spain.

Lennon, who has just led his team to their third consecutive Scottish league title, believes that the World Cup campaign this year will be a tough one with so many good teams around.

However, he also feels the fact that this World Cup is going to be played in Brazil means that the South American teams will have an advantage going forward.

"Personally, I think it will be South American team", Lennon told FIFA's official site when asked about the winners.

"I’ll be very surprised if a European side goes over there and does it, although you can never write off Spain."

However, Lennon does not sound optimistic about Belgium, a team comprised of well-proven stars like Eden Hazard, Marouane Fellaini, Axel Witsel and Vincent Kompany.

"People keep mentioning Belgium, but I can’t see it.

"I’d be looking at Brazil and Argentina. The conditions over there will suit them, and with Brazil being at home, they’ll start as favourites.

"But Argentina, with the quality and firepower they have, can’t be ruled out. I’m looking forward to seeing how it goes", the 42-year-old added.
