Manchester City are the latest club to enter the race for Sevilla's highly-rated left-back Alberto Moreno, with sporting director Txiki Begiristain preparing to open talks with Los Rojiblancos.

The Spain international has been linked with a whole host of clubs over the course of the season, from Manchester United to Juventus, and from Chelsea to Napoli; Rafael Benitez's men even failed with an official bid in January, while an unnamed Premier League side also saw an offer snubbed.

Now, according to Seville-based daily Estadio Deportivo, Manchester City are firmly in the mix and gunning for a summer transfer.

Sevilla are likely to drive a hard bargain for Moreno however and the club may force any side to pay his release clause, thought to be at around the €30m mark.

Moreno could also boost his suitors' list even further this summer, if he can make an impact at the World Cup with Spain.

The 21-year-old, who has won one senior cap for La Roja, is bidding for inclusion in Vicente del Bosque's squad.

He helped Spain to European Under-21 Championship glory last year.
