Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has insisted the team need to be cautions against Wigan Athletic, but feels that they have the resources to pull off a win when the two sides meet for the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley on Saturday.

The Gunners progressed to the last four stage of the English cup after beating Everton 4-1 in the quarter-finals and will be looking to inch a step closer to their first silverware in close to nine years.

The Latics on the other hand, who are FA Cup’s defending champions, shocked Manchester City 2-1 in the sixth round to make it to semi-finals, and will be hoping to stage another upset against a Premier League side, but Wenger is aware of the threat Uwe Rosler’s men can pose.

“Wigan have always had good teams in recent years but when you reach a semi-final you just consider it an opportunity to get to the final, be your opponents Wigan or anyone else”,  the Frenchman told Arsenal’s site.

“But we have a big experience as a team. We have played everywhere in Europe so we know that you just adapt to the quality of the pitch, to the opponent and you give your best.”

Currently fourth in the Premier League, Arsenal are all but out of the race for the English title. Struggling to finish the season in the top four in the league, a spot in the FA Cup final might be the boost the side needs to ensure their place in the Champions League next year.
