Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen has praised his team’s effort to claw themselves back from 3-0 down to get a point at Hawthorns on Saturday against West Brom.

Eriksen scored in stoppage time to earn a point for Tottenham after they conceded three first-half goals against West Brom. A Jonas Olsson own goal in the 34th minute and a Harry Kane header with 20 minutes to go brought Spurs back into the game.

The Danish international praised his team-mates for maintaining their calm and composure even after going 3-0 down in the first half.

"We didn’t do what we did before and that’s lose our heads at 3-0. We got the goal for 3-1, had a penalty and we wanted to have a new game in the second half and we did that”, the 22-year-old told the club’s official site.

"The first goal was important, we were also unlucky with a penalty but we had the confidence that we could do it in the second half.”

The former Ajax man lauded the team’s performance in the second half and believes that they should have taken all three points from the game.

"It was way better in the second half. We wanted to win and we tried to prove that. We only got one point but at 3-0 down, you take that one point. We still wanted to win though."

Eriksen joined Tottenham Hotspur from Ajax last summer on a deal worth £11m; the Dane signed a five-year contract with the north London club.
