Barcelona defender Carles Puyol believes that the season is not yet over for the club and there are enough quality players within the team to turn things around.

The Catalan giants succumbed to their second defeat in a row in all competitions after a 1-0 loss to Granada at the weekend.

With their Champions League dreams now over, it is time that the team shift their focus to the immediate job in hand, which is the Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid on Wednesday.

"The season isn't over yet", an optimistic Puyol was quoted as saying by Spanish daily Marca.

"The transition from one era to the next has been going on for a while now. We mustn't start a revolution because of results."

The 36-year-old adds that its is up to the club's sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta to take decisions regarding the areas needing to be strengthened, but feels that the time has not yet come to stop having faith in a team full of star players.

"Zubizarreta has to have a plan and strengthen the positions he deems necessary, but we mustn't give up on a team that is full of players with a lot of ability and a lot to offer the club.

"This is a strong team with plenty of winners. You can never doubt this team's hunger", Puyol added.
