Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski has insisted the Gunners are desperate to finish in the top four this season and qualify for the Champions League.

Arsene Wenger's men put West Ham to the sword, 3-1, at the Emirates Stadium this evening, with Podolski bagging a brace.

The three points have moved Arsenal above Everton and into fourth place, although the Toffees can reclaim fourth if they can beat Crystal Palace tomorrow.

But Arsenal will fight hard, Podolski has claimed, with the Champions League vitally important.

"The FA Cup [final] is after the season, so we leave the FA Cup now at the moment and we focus on the Premier League because the important thing is that everyone wants to play in the Champions League", Podolski told Sky Sports.

"The atmosphere is amazing and every player wants to play in the Champions League next year.

"We must win all the matches and then I think we are qualified", the German concluded.
