Manchester City will be without Yaya Toure for between ten days and two weeks, boss Manuel Pellegrini has revealed.

Toure picked up a muscle injury during Sunday's 3-2 defeat against Liverpool at Anfield, being forced off the pitch in the first half of the contest.

And the Citizens will have to make do without the powerful Ivorian at a vital stage in the season.

Pellegrini said via his club's feed: "Maybe it's not as bad as we thought at the beginning.

"But he needs at least ten days or two weeks to recover."

Toure will now miss games against Sunderland (tomorrow), West Brom (21st April) and potentially the club's trip to Crystal Palace (27th April).
