Lille defender Simon Kjaer is flattered by interest from AC Milan and Manchester United, but does not want to be distracted from the goal of helping his team secure Champions League football.

The 25-year-old, who has long been tipped to reach the very top, joined Lille from Wolfsburg last summer, penning a four-year deal with the French outfit.

The Denmark international has wasted little time settling in and producing performance which have again put him on the radar of some of Europe's elite.

And on interest from Milan and Manchester United, Kjaer told Danish daily BT: "Of course I'm flattered when I am associated with big clubs.

"But I want my attention and focus to be on helping our team to qualify for the Champions League.

"I have that in my mind so I'm not thinking about all those rumours."

Plucked from Danish outfit Midtylland in 2008 by Italian club Palermo, Kjaer cost Wolfsburg around €12.5m to sign in 2010. He struggled to impress at the Volkswagen Arena however and was soon on the move again, heading back to Serie A to join Roma on loan.

The Giallorossi opted against signing Kjaer on a permanent basis though and he returned to Wolfsburg in 2012.
