Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta is confident that his side will put up a great performance and win the Copa del Rey when they face Spanish rivals Real Madrid in the final at Mestella this evening.

The Catalans have not had the best of seasons this year, after being eliminated from the Champions League by losing to Atletico Madrid in the quarter-finals last week, Tata Martino’s side went down 1-0 against Granada in La Liga on Saturday and slipped to third in the league table four points behind the leaders.

But the Spanish international insisted that recent performances will not hamper the side’s performance and the team will put their best foot forward to make things right.

"If we want to win the cup, we'll have to be at our best. The team has what it takes and we'll be going for it", the 29-year-old was quoted as saying by Marca.

"It's true we're coming off a week in which we had two tough blows, but we have to put that to one side.

“Sometimes it's difficult to separate things. This is a different competition and we're not thinking about anything other than the final and winning the trophy”, he continued.

“We will go there confident we can put in a great performance".

Barcelona are the most successful club in Copa del Rey history, with 26 titles to their name and will be looking to add another one to their tally.
