Barcelona legend Johan Cruyff believes that the only way for the club to solve their current problems is for Pep Guardiola to be brought back as coach.

Guardiola stood down as coach in 2012 after a hugely successful four-year spell in charge of the Catalan giants. He is now at the helm of Bayern Munich, following a year out of the game.

Barcelona appointed Argentine Gerardo Martino as coach last summer, but he has come in for his fair share of criticism as the wheels have come off at the Camp Nou.

The Catalans are out of the Champions League and have slipped to third spot in La Liga, while their ball possession statistics are down, with more long passes in their game.

"How do you solve Barcelona's problems? The best thing for the club would be the return of Guardiola", Cryuff explained to El Mundo Deportivo.

"Pep is an extraordinary coach, no one is better than him.

"If [Joan] Laporta returns as president, the best thing he can do is to bring the coach back home."

Barcelona are next in action tonight when they take on Real Madrid in the final of the Copa del Rey in Valencia.
