Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has praised Kim Kallstrom’s performance in last night’s win against West Ham and believes that the Swede’s experience played a crucial role in closing out the game in the second half for the Gunners.

In January this year Kallstrom joined Arsenal on loan from Spartak Moscow. He was suffering from a back injury even before he joined the Gunners and as a result made his debut against Swansea City on 25th March.

"Especially when we under pressure in the second half, he did really well.”

The Pole is hopeful that they can secure the last Champions League spot and believes that Arsenal’s experience of finishing seasons strongly will be crucial in the final scheme of things.

“Hopefully the experience of fighting and having good run-ins over the last couple of seasons can help us get through again."

Szczesny joined the Arsenal youth set-up in 2006 at the age of sixteen and made rapid progress through the ranks.

After a loan spell at Brentford in 2009, the Pole finally became the first choice goalkeeper for the Gunners in the 2011/12 season.
