Leeds United assistant manager Nigel Gibbs has emphasised the importance of the squad putting in work on the training pitch to gain two quickfire victories over the long Easter weekend.

The Yorkshire giants, who experienced a tailspin in results after Christmas which sent them spiraling down the Championship table, beat Blackpool 2-0 last weekend and want to build upon the victory when taking on Barnsley on Saturday and then Nottingham Forest on Monday.

And while the short time between games makes recovery key, Gibbs has pointed out the importance of work on the training pitch.

"It is important that you do the work on the training pitch", he told the club's site.

"It will be a quick turnaround with a game on Saturday and Monday.

"We will be in on the Sunday to recover after Saturday to make sure everyone is ready for Monday evening’s game.

"It is another busy period and it is important that we make sure that the lads are fresh for both matches."
