Bayer Leverkusen have not made a bid for 1.FC Nurnberg striker Josip Drmic, sporting director Rudi Voller has insisted, while admitting that the Swiss international is "interesting".

Drmic's knack of scoring goals in a Nurnberg side battling relegation from the Bundesliga has seen clubs queuing up to take a peek at his talents.

The striker has been strongly linked with English giants Arsenal, with claims that a deal is all but done having to be quickly denied by Drmic's agent.

Now Voller has insisted that talk Leverkusen have slapped in an offer for the Nurnberg man are wide of the mark too.

"This is nonsense!" Voller thundered to German daily Bild.

"Drmic is an interesting player.

"Other clubs know that too."

Should Nurnberg be relegated from the Bundesliga this season, Drmic may quit the Franconians for just €4.5m.
