Manchester United first team coach Phil Neville has admitted he has not even wanted to look at the Premier League table this season due to how badly the Red Devils have fared.

Champions with ease last term, Neville arrived as part of the coaching staff under new boss David Moyes in the summer, but the club's campaign has slowly turned into a nightmare.

Manchester United were dumped out of the FA Cup early on and exited the League Cup at the semi-final stage. Recently they headed out of the Champions League too.

And in the Premier League the Red Devils sit seventh and look all but certain to miss out on Champions League football next term.

For Neville, who enjoyed huge success at the club as a player, times have been tough.

"We are not hiding away from the fact we have under-performed", he told the BBC.

"It's been difficult watching other teams above us do well and to even look at a league table.

"I find it difficult to watch Match of the Day on Saturday night; I find it almost impossible because we've suffered this season."

Manchester United are still hoping to end the season with some momentum under their belt and will attempt to get back to winning ways away at Everton on Sunday.
