Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has dismissed most of the transfer talk and alleged targets that have been linked to the club immediately after they secured promotion to the Premier League.

Leicester secured promotion to the top division, with their 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday earlier this month, after a ten-year absence.

"As soon as we [secured promotion] agents link us with players, I have absolutely no intention of following up," Pearson told BBC Radio Leicester.

Manchester United striker Federico Macheda, who is currently on loan to Birmingham City, and Bolton midfielder Mark Davies have been linked with a move to the King Power Stadium.

Pearson admits that some of the names linked to the Foxes have made him chuckle.

"We have an opportunity to maybe do a little bit of early business, but some of the names I've been told we've been linked with I've laughed at.

"Some of those names probably aren't in the right sort of shape to get in our side to start with."

Leicester City last played in the Premier League in the 2003/04 campaign where they finished 18th in the table on 33 points and were relegated along with Leeds United and Wolves.
