Manchester United are looking to barge into the negotiations between Valencia and AC Milan for French defender Adil Rami after it came to light that Milan are not ready to pay the transfer fee demanded by the Spanish club, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes.

Rami joined AC Milan on a loan move from Valencia in October 2013 after the Spanish club allowed the French defender to train with the Rossoneri until his move was made official in January 2014.

Milan are trying to lower the transfer fee and their offer is falling short of what Valencia are demanding to make Rami’s move permanent.

Manchester United are ready to take advantage of this situation and are more than willing to pay the €12m that Valencia are demanding for the 28-year-old.

Rami has no intention of returning to Valencia and previously stated that he was happy at Milan and wants to end his career with the Rossoneri.

The French defender has made 13 league appearances for AC Milan this season, scoring three goals and providing two assists.

With Nemanja Vidic leaving for Inter Milan and Rio Ferdinand’s contract expiring at the end of the season, Manchester United are looking to add an experienced central defender to the squad for the next term.
