Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor believes that his side need to win their remaining four games "for the fans".

Spurs currently sit sixth in the Premier League table and look to have little chance of finishing the season in a coveted top four spot.

But Adebayor believes that does not mean Spurs should wind down and earning 12 points from their final four Premier League games should be aimed for to repay the club's supporters.

He told his club's site: "As we approach the end of this season, we have to keep our heads right for these last four games and win them for the fans.

"We have had some very good performances this season but we have had too many poor ones as well and it’s important we learn from our mistakes next year.

"It’s up to us to put everything into these remaining games, pick up four wins and give them renewed hope and enthusiasm for next season."

The maximum number of points that Spurs can finish on this term is 72, while Arsenal, who sit fourth, already have 67 points and fifth-placed Everton boast 66.

Tottenham are next in action tomorrow against Fulham at White Hart Lane.
