Tottenham Hotspur boss Tim Sherwood has praised Christian Eriksen for his work ethic and desire to continually improve, after the Dane's expert set-piece delivery created two of his side's goals in their 3-1 win over Fulham today.

Paulinho handed Spurs the lead at White Hart Lane after an Eriksen free-kick, the home side taking the lead in the 35th minute.

Steve Sidwell quickly drew Fulham level two minutes later, ensuring the two sides would head in level at 1-1 at half-time.

Harry Kane then put Tottenham ahead in the 48th minute, before another Eriksen free-kick was knocked home by Younes Kaboul in the 62nd minute.

And Sherwood was full of praise for Eriksen, who has been hailed as the buy of the season in some quarters after costing just £11.5m from Ajax in the summer.

"We know he's got class delivery, but it's not something that just happens", Sherwood explained to the BBC.

"Christian is out on that training field every day. We have to call time. You'd need floodlights there just to get him in the light.

"The kid wants to improve himself all the time and he's not just a training ground player, as you see. He puts it into practice when there's 40,000 people watching him", the Tottenham boss concluded.
