Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger insists that Premier League leaders Liverpool have had it easy compared to his side.

The Gunners looked to be in contention for the Premier League title until February, with Liverpool drubbing Wenger's men 5-1 at Anfield as a tough run of fixtures saw Arsenal slip out of the race and into competing with Everton to finish in the top four.

Wenger's side strengthened their hold on fourth spot today by beating Hull 3-0, while just hours earlier Liverpool had beaten Norwich 3-2 to move five points clear at the top of the table.

And Wenger does not believe the gap between the two teams is too large, pointing to a favourable run the Reds have enjoyed compared to his side.

"The table is very close", the Frenchman said via his club's site.

"Liverpool played very well in the second part of the season and you wouldn't like to take anything away from them. But they could focus completely on the Premier League.

"If you look at the injuries, plus the players that we missed plus the schedule we had, of course it was much more heavier than Liverpool", Wenger concluded.

Liverpool are ten points ahead of Arsenal with three games left to play this term.
