Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has explained that David Silva will be assessed following being stretchered off the pitch during this evening's 3-1 Premier League win over West Brom.

Silva appeared to clutch his ankle with pain against the Baggies and there was instantly concern about the Spaniard.




Pellegrini has revealed that Silva has played with pain his his ankle for the last three games, although it is still too soon to say if that is indeed the issue.

"We will see on Tuesday how important it is", the Chilean explained to Sky Sports post-match.

"He has played the last three games with some pain in his ankle", Pellegrini continued.

"We don't know if that pain has increased or if it is another problem."

Striker Sergio Aguero was also substituted during the clash against the Baggies in the 64th minute, but Pellegrini explained there is no concern over the Argentine.

"Sergio doesn't have any problem", he said.
