Everton manager Roberto Martinez has revealed that centre-back Sylvain Distin will undergo a scan today to determine the extent of his hamstring injury.

The defender, who picked up the injury during the Toffees’ 2-0 win over Manchester United at Goodison Park yesterday, was replaced by Antolin Alcaraz at half-time.

And Martinez explained that he is hoping Distin’s injury is not too serious.

“Sylvain will have a scan tomorrow [Monday]. He felt his hamstring. I just hope we pulled him out of the game just in time”, the manager told his club’s official site.

"If it's damaged, it will be difficult for him to play again this season. But, if not, maybe within a week or 10 days he will be fine."

Kevin Mirallas, who scored the second goal for Everton against the Red Devils, appeared to be limping in the closing stages of the match.

But Martinez insisted the Belgian international is not injured and that the midfielder was just suffering from cramp.

"Kevin is fine. He just had cramp", he added.

Everton, who consolidated fifth place in the Premier League with the win, are already without their skipper and first-choice centre-back Phil Jagielka.
