Udinese’s Colombian striker Luis Muriel might become the subject of a big transfer tussle in the summer after it emerged that most of the top Italian clubs and Liverpool are interested in acquiring the services of the 23-year-old, according to Tutto Mercato.

Muriel was 19 when he joined Udinese from Colombian outfit Deportivo Cali in 2010 and was immediately loaned out to Granada to gain experience.

The Colombian returned to Udinese in 2012 and provided an assist on his debut against Fiorentina. He shared the Serie A Young Footballer of the Year award with AC Milan’s Stephan El Shaarawy for the year 2012.

The young striker’s pace and a keen eye for goal has attracted interest from AC Milan, Juventus, Fiorentina and Lazio in Italy and even Liverpool are following the Colombian’s progress with interest.

Muriel has a contract with Udinese that expires in 2018; the Italians are under no pressure to sell and only a very high bid might persuade Giampaolo Pozzo, the owner of the club, to sell his prized asset.

Muriel has made 23 appearances for Udinese in the Serie A this season, scoring four goals and providing one assist.
