Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has refused to comment on Thibaut Courtois being allowed to play against his parent club by saying that the managers don’t make the rules.

Courtois is on loan from Chelsea at Atletico Madrid and UEFA allowed the Belgian to represent the Spanish league leaders against the Blues in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final tie at the Vicente Calderon last night.

“It's best for me not to comment. UEFA make the rules, whether you accept them or not. It’s not for the manager to comment on”, the Portuguese was quoted as saying by AS.

Mourinho also refused to comment on Courtois or his possible return to Chelsea next season.
