Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Etienne Capoue has returned to first team training after a lengthy injury layoff.

The French defensive midfielder had suffered a leg injury during the match against Norwich City in February.

Since then he has been out of action for two months. But the rehabilitation process has gone well and now the 25-year-old has taken full part in the team's training session.

"It's great to see him back in training", manager Tim Sherwood told his club's official site.

However, he also cautioned that the team need to take a careful approach with Capoue and not hurry him into action at once.

"He has been out for two months, so we have to be careful.

"We'll continue to monitor him closely", the 45-year-old added.

Capoue has played 12 games for the team in the league this season, having scored a single goal.
