Hakan Calhanoglu's agent has dealt the Hamburg star's English suitors a blow by revealing that the attacking midfielder sees his future in Germany.

Calhanoglu has been in impressive form in a struggling Hamburg side this season and scouts have flocked to take in his performances for the relegation battling northern German giants.

He counts Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool amongst his English suitors, while Galatasaray are also alive to his talents. Meanwhile, from within Germany there has of late been serious interest from Bayer Leverkusen.

Despite Hamburg recently locking Calhanoglu down to a new deal, potential relegation from the Bundesliga has meant many clubs smell an opportunity.

English sides are down the pecking order though, the midfielder's agent Bektas Demirtas has told the Hamburger Morgenpost.

"We know about Leverkusen's interest", he said, adding: "And Bayer also have a chance.

"Hakan sees his future in Germany. There is still interest from all the major English clubs, but the boy has to get to play.

"We believe this is more likely in the Bundesliga."

However, the player's agent revealed no release clause is contained in his client's contract, leaving the power in Hamburg's hands.

"The decision is down to HSV. Hakan has a contract until 2018 and no exit clause.

"And Hakan's concentration must entirely be on HSV, he ignores everything else."
