West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has criticised the way the news of David Moyes’ sacking was leaked a day before it was officially confirmed by Manchester United on Tuesday.

Manchester United sacked Moyes on Tuesday due to the team’s poor performance in the league, but the stories about the Scot’s imminent departure broke on Monday.

"It is a great shame for Manchester United as a brand and of course David Moyes, knowing his fate before he was even told", Allardyce told a press conference this morning, quoted by the BBC.

The 59-year-old has expressed his disappointment in the way the Red Devils carried out the whole saga in the open and has termed it as a ‘great shame’ for a club as big as Manchester United.

Moyes was sacked by Manchester United after it became clear that the Red Devils won’t make it to this season’s top four and in turn won’t qualify for next season’s Champions League.
