Leeds United’s Sam Byram feels that he is recovering nicely from his injury setback and is looking to make a strong comeback to the team at the start of next season.

Byram sustained a hamstring injury at the start of this month and was ruled out for the rest of the season.

"It has been stop start with injuries and then having a little stint on the sidelines. I'm more hungry than ever to come back for pre-season, get a good pre-season and go from there”, Byram told LUTV.

The 20-year-old said that the season hasn’t been great for him due to the multiple injuries that have kept him out of action but believes that with a good pre-season under his belt, he can kick on in the next campaign.

“It's been tough with injuries, mentally as well. I think last season went quite well compared to this year, so it's been tough to deal with.

“I know it sounds weird to say but I'm glad it's the back-end now so I can get a fresh start, rest over the summer and come back fit and healthy."

The Thurrock-born full-back has made 25 appearances for Leeds United this season in the Championship and has assisted three goals.
