In-demand Metz striker Diafra Sakho looks set to be at the centre of a major transfer scuffle in the summer, with no less than five of Europe's elite clubs eyeing snapping up the 19-year-old.

Sakho's talent has been signposted for some time, with Metz revealing to Inside Futbol in February that 15 scouts per game head to watch the striker in action in France's Ligue 2.

The club's academy director explained: "Every game, there are around 15 international clubs who come to the matches to see him. English clubs are here."

And Denis Schaeffer revealed that Metz are not confident of being able to keep hold of Sakho beyond the end of the current campaign.

"I'm happy he'll stay until the end of the season. Then it will be difficult for us to keep him."

Now, according to French daily La Provence, the list of suitors for Sakho is set, and a battle looms.

Tracking the striker are Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Marseille, Newcastle and Liverpool.

Metz will not allow Sakho to move on cheaply however and have set a minimum asking price of €6m for the starlet.
