Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has explained that striker Daniel Sturridge will be assessed over the next 48 hours ahead of the club's Premier League clash against Crystal Palace on Monday evening.

Sturridge came off the bench in last weekend's 2-0 defeat against Chelsea, but was clearly off the pace and struggled to impact the game.

However, Rodgers has been pleased with his continued recovery from injury this week, even if the jury is still out on his involvement at Selhurst Park.

"We'll see over the next 48 hours", he told a press conference.
