Championship side Brighton and Hove Albion are keen on Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano.

The Italian has spent the season on loan at Arsenal from Serie A outfit Palermo, but looks unlikely to remain with Arsene Wenger's men into next term.

According to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, there is serious interest from Brighton, with the Seagulls expected to open talks with Palermo about signing the goalkeeper within the next few days.

Viviano is under contract to Palermo, but has not played for the club since 2012.

He spent last season with Fiorentina and then moved to Arsenal for the current campaign.

However, catching Wenger's eye has proven difficult and the 28-year-old has not started a senior game for the Gunners.

Arsenal's loan agreement with Palermo does have a purchase option included, but it is not likely to be activated.
