Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale feels that it is ‘incredible’ that his childhood hero Ryan Giggs is still playing at the top level.

The 24-year-old, who moved to Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur last summer, is a childhood fan of his countryman Giggs.

The former Spurs man said that for a forty-year-old to still continue playing at the top level for a club like Manchester United is nothing short of ‘incredible’.

“Something like that, yes [he’s 40], it’s incredible, incredible”, Bale told BT Sport, speaking about Giggs.

In his early days with Wales, Bale got an opportunity to play alongside his childhood hero Giggs. The Manchester United legend has now retired from international football.

“We played together for a good year in Wales and had a few games together which was obviously nice to play with him and learn off him when I was that young, it was a great experience to have and one that I thoroughly enjoyed.”

Bale made his first appearance for Wales in a 2-1 win over Trinidad and Tobago in 2006, making him the youngest player ever to play for Wales at 16 years and 315 days. He assisted the winning goal scored by Robert Earnshaw.
