Iker Casillas is thinking about bidding farewell to his boyhood club Real Madrid this summer.

Casillas is frustrated with the situation at Real Madrid after Diego Lopez bypassed him to become the club’s first choice goalkeeper in La Liga. This resulted in the club captain making only two league appearances this season.

However, the 33-year-old is still Real Madrid’s first choice for the cup games, meaning he played in the Champions League final. but he is not happy with the situation as he feels he is not getting the amount of games that he deserves.

The boyhood Real Madrid fan is not ready to sit on the bench for one more season and is giving a serious thought to bidding farewell to the club that he joined when he was just 10 years old, according to Spanish daily El Mundo Deportivo.

His Spain team-mate, Santi Cazorla, earlier this year urged Casillas to join him at Arsenal and believes a lot of clubs will knock on his door if he decides to part ways with Real Madrid.

"His situation is very complicated, but he has to make a decision”, the Gunners midfielder said.

"Lots of clubs want him, including Arsenal, but I think that it would be very difficult to leave Real Madrid because of what the club represents.

"He knows what he has [at Real Madrid] and what he could find at another club."
