In-demand Feyenoord defender Stefan de Vrij has admitted his leaving De Kuip this summer is a distinct possibility.

De Vrij has been linked with being on new Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal's hit list on account of the defender being a key man under the 62-year-old in the Holland squad, while Lazio have already seen a bid knocked back by Feyenoord.

And De Vrij, who insists his focus is squarely on the World Cup at present, believes he could well be bidding farewell to Feyenoord.

"My future? Yes, there is a chance that I will be leaving, but now I am just thinking about the World Cup", he told RTV Rijnmond.

"I still do not know anything definite, so it is pointless saying too much about it", the 22-year-old added.

De Vrij could further increase the scramble for his services by putting in a series of good displays at the forthcoming World Cup.

The defender has just one year left to run on his contract with Feyenoord.
