Lazio are continuing to push hard to sign centre-back Davide Astori from Cagliari.

Astori has been linked with a number of clubs this summer, including Fiorentina and Championship side Leeds, whose owner Massimo Cellino, also the owner of Cagliari, has been mooted as trying to persuade the Italy defender to move to England.

Lazio have now upped an initial offer of €5m for Astori, the Rome club now being prepared to put €7m on the table for the centre-back, according to Il Messaggero.

It remains to be seen where Astori wants to head or if Cagliari's potential new owners, an American group Cellino is in the process of selling to, want to keep the defender.
