Xherdan Shaqiri's representatives have discussed the possibility of their client swapping Bayern Munich for Liverpool this summer, bringing the matter of a departure up with the German club's officials.

The Switzerland international has grown frustrated at the Allianz Arena, feeling coach Pep Guardiola overlooks him for the club's biggest games, while throwing him middling Bundesliga clashes instead.

Shaqiri, who was also linked with Liverpool last summer, recently blasted that he does not want to experience another season at Bayern Munich similar to that he has just endured.

The former Basel man also claimed Jupp Heynckes, Guardiola's predecessor, had more faith in his talents.

While Bayern Munich are not actively looking to sell Shaqiri, according to Swiss daily 20 Minuten, the player's advisors have discussed a potential parting of the ways with the Bundesliga champions, amid interest from Liverpool, who are watching matters closely.

Shaqiri is currently on international duty with Switzerland, preparing for the World Cup in Brazil.

It is also unclear what asking price Bayern Munich might slap on the winger if Liverpool choose to firm up their interest with an official offer.
