Former AC Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso has been appointed the new coach of Greek Super League side OFI Crete.

Gattuso joins the club for the forthcoming 2014/15 season and takes over a side which finished sixth in the Greek Super League last season.

The former midfielder, who spent 13 years with AC Milan, hung up his boots in 2013 while at Swiss outfit FC Sion.

The 36-year-old also had a spell as player-manager at Sion, before taking charge at Palermo.
