Rangers’ manager Ally McCoist is hoping that Kenny Miller’s goals will help the club to achieve promotion to the top flight next season.

Miller rejoined Rangers on Thursday on a one-year deal and it will be his third stint with the Light Blues.

The 34-year-old striker previously made 111 league appearances for the club over two stints and scored 57 goals.

McCoist is delighted to have Miller back at the Ibrox Stadium and feels that the veteran is still an admired figure at the club.

“We are delighted to get Kenny. He has a great history with the club and has been a proven goalscorer here before. He is a player we have always admired”, the 51-year-old told the club’s official site.

The Scot believes that Miller’s experience and proven goalscoring acumen will prove crucial as Rangers look to get back to the top flight of Scottish football next season.

“We are thrilled to have him back, absolutely thrilled.

“We certainly see Kenny as being one of the major players in hopefully our return to the top flight in what will be a very difficult season for us next year.”
