Carlo Ancelotti has stressed that Arsenal target Iker Casillas will remain at Real Madrid despite rumours of him being unsettled.

The Spanish national team captain is frustrated with his position at Los Blancos where he made only two league appearances last season.




Diego Lopez has leapfrogged the 33-year-old to become the first choice goalkeeper for league games.

The Real Madrid captain remains the first choice for cup games, but Casillas feels that it is not good enough for a goalkeeper of his pedigree.

Arsenal are believed to be keen on taking Casillas to London this summer and Arsene Wenger feels that he can convince the Spanish number one to leave Real Madrid.

Ancelotti has said that no decision has been taken on the goalkeeping conundrum at Real Madrid but stressed that Casillas will remain at the club.

"We have not thought about it because after the Champions League victory everyone left for their holiday”, the Italian was quoted as saying by AS.

“Casillas is very happy at Real Madrid and I believe that he will stay."
