Leeds United have been told to keep their hands off Reading academy chief Eamonn Dolan.

The Yorkshire giants are searching for a new manager to replace Brian McDermott, and Dolan hasn been strongly linked with the post.

But the Royals have no intention of losing Dolan and the club's director of football Nick Hammond has made their position crystal clear, saying via Get Reading: "Reading FC are aware of the interest of another Championship club in our Academy Manager Eamonn Dolan. Eamonn is an integral part of our club and is under contract to Reading Football Club.

"Eamonn has done an incredible job since taking over from Brendan Rodgers and we hope he will be a big part of our club for many years to come.

"He has a fantastic relationship with our manager Nigel Adkins and we do not welcome any approaches from any club for our key staff.

"We hope this is the end of the matter."

Leeds, who are considering candidates for their vacant post and have already interviewed Gary McAllister, are aiming for promotion to the Premier League within two years.

Dolan joined Reading in 2004 from Exeter City.
